Hive Digital Media represents Caxton-owned digital media platforms in retail, local news and video. Our solutions can be bought in a premium or programmatic fashion, strategically targeted to reach relevant audiences in a brand safe-environment through the use of our data management platform. As a Shared Services division of the Caxton Group, we also provide expertise in marketing services, SEO, content, conversion optimisation as well as technical support and development for partners across our network.
Hive Digital was formed to represent and amplify Caxton’s long-running and locally-entrenched publications in the digital space. We’ve been building ever since.
We were born out of over a decade of growth in the Caxton group’s digital media and digital platform initiatives. Caxton launched a division of it’s Local Newspaper sales business, NAB Digital back in 2011. This business grew from strength to strength, until the decision was taken to acquire Habari Media. Habari at the time was the leading digital media sales house in South Africa.
In 2013 Caxton decided to merge NAB and Habari Media, to form a print and digital sales house, Spark Media. The Spark Media digital unit grew well, which lead to the creation of a specialist Digital Media and Marketing Services division, which is known as Hive Digital Media.
